Jo made her acting debut in 2011 in the MBC Every1 sitcom Real School. She accumulated experience through short dramas and specials, including roles in Can Love Become Money, Friendly Criminal, Jeon Woo-chi, Sirius, and the sitcom Pure Love (as Go Da-bi).
She gained more visibility with supporting parts in Medical Top Team (2013, as Yeo Min-ji), Modern Farmer (2014, as Hwang I-ji), and the long-running family drama A Daughter Just Like You (2015, as So Jeong-i).
