Shin Ye-eun (신예은; born January 18, 1998) is a South Korean actress and model best known for her breakout role as Do Ha-na in the web series A-Teen (2018), which earned her the nickname “Nation’s First Love.” She gained international acclaim through Revenge of Others (2022), Netflix’s The Glory (2022–2023), and recent hits including Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born (2024), A Hundred Memories (2025), The Murky Stream (2025), and Doctor on the Edge (2026).

Early Life and Education

Shin Ye-eun was born on January 18, 1998, in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Growing up, she developed a strong interest in performing arts, influenced by her grandfather, a theatrical actor whose performances she frequently watched.

She attended Anyang Arts High School, majoring in acting, then enrolled at Sungkyunkwan University in the Performing Arts (Theater and Film) department. While still a student, she appeared as the cover model for the college magazine College Tomorrow No. 840, which helped launch her career.

Career

2018–2021: Debut and Early Breakthrough Shin made her acting debut in 2018 as Do Ha-na in the Playlist web series A-Teen. The role became a cultural phenomenon among Gen Z viewers, sparking “Do Ha-na Syndrome” and earning her the sobriquet “Nation’s First Love.” She signed with JYP Entertainment shortly after and appeared in Day6’s “Shoot Me” music video.

In 2019 she landed her first major television lead opposite Park Jin-young in He Is Psychometric. She also co-hosted KBS’s Music Bank (2019–2020) with Golden Child’s Choi Bo-min and appeared in Welcome (2020) and More Than Friends (2020). She later served as a radio DJ on Volume Up.

2022–2023: International Recognition 2022 marked a major turning point. In Disney+’s Revenge of Others, she played Ok Chan-mi, a determined high-school athlete seeking justice for her twin brother’s death. The performance won her Best New Actress at the Blue Dragon Series Awards.

Immediately afterward, she delivered a chilling portrayal of the teenage Park Yeon-jin in Netflix’s global hit The Glory (2022–2023).
