Career

Go Ara made her acting debut in 2003 as the lead in the KBS teen drama Sharp (also known as Sharp #1), playing the confident middle-school student Lee Ok-rim. The role brought her instant popularity. She continued with Sharp 2 and later appeared in Snow Flower (2006), earning early awards recognition.

Her career reached a new level with the 2013 hit Reply 1994, in which she played Sung Na-jung. She followed this with strong performances in You’re All Surrounded (2014), Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016–2017), the fantasy crime series Black (2017), the legal drama Ms. Hammurabi (2018), the historical series Haechi (2019), and the romantic comedy Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol (2020).

She has also appeared in films including Joseon Magician (2015), Phantom Detective (2016), and The Childe (2023). After leaving SM Entertainment, she worked under Artist Company before signing with King Kong by Starship in 2023
