Kim Ye-won made her acting debut in 2008 with the film A Tale of Legendary Libido (also known as Garu Jigi). She gained wider notice in 2011 with a supporting role as the leader of a rival high-school girl gang in the popular film Sunny.
She continued with roles in the horror anthology Horror Stories (2012) and its sequel. On television she appeared in Cool Guys, Hot Ramen (2011), I Need Romance 2012, and other series. A significant period came in the mid-2010s with supporting parts in Don’t Dare to Dream (2016), Suspicious Partner (2017) as Na Ji-hae, Revolutionary Love (2017), and Rich Man (2018) as Min Tae-a.
