2Select Raise Hand from the panel that appears.

3A hand icon will appear next to your name in the Participants list.

Keyboard shortcut — Alt + Y on Windows, ⌥ Option + Y on Mac. Press again to lower your hand.

Mobile app — iOS & Android

1Tap anywhere on the screen to reveal the meeting controls.

2Tap More (the three-dot ··· icon) in the bottom-right corner.

3Select Raise Hand from the menu.

Web browser (Zoom in browser)

Click or tap Reactions → Lower Hand using the same steps above. Alternatively, the meeting host or co-host can lower your hand for you. On desktop, the keyboard shortcut works as a toggle — pressing it again lowers your hand.

Good to know

When you raise your hand, the host sees a notification and your name moves to the top of the Participants panel. Hosts can click Lower All Hands at once if needed. In webinars, attendees can also raise hands — but panelists cannot, as they already have speaking privileges.

When the Raise Hand option is missing

If you don’t see the option, the host may have disabled the Reactions feature for the meeting. In that case, you can try using the chat to type your question, or wait for the host to open the floor. Some organizations also disable it via their Zoom admin settings.
